Following the review of the third-order draft of the 2^nd State of the Carbon Cycle Report (SOCCR-2) by the USGCRP member agency principals and subsequent revisions, the draft is scheduled to be released for simultaneous public and National Academy of Sciences reviews.

The SOCCR-2 Federal Steering Committee is now seeking individuals with demonstrated technical expertise to serve as Review Editors for the SOCCR-2 process. SOCCR-2 Review Editors are responsible for ensuring that all substantive comments received during the upcoming public comment period and from the National Academy of Sciences review are appropriately addressed, providing guidance on contentious issues, and ensuring that significant scientific uncertainties are adequately reflected in the subsequent revised text.

The deadline for nominations is July 30, 2017.
