Final Selection made for Phase 3 of the Joint Carbon Cycle Science Program (US CCSP) and North American Carbon Program (NACP) Leadership Awards

Final selections have been made for Phase 3 of the joint US Carbon Cycle Science Program (US CCSP) and North American Carbon Program (NACP) Leadership Awards. In 2021, the US CCSP and the NACP established this Leadership Award to support opportunities for engagement, communication and collaboration for the North American carbon cycle community. This award activity is aimed at advancing our broader diversity, equity, inclusivity, accessibility and justice goals which are essential for fulfilling our national and global science priorities.

We received over 80 applications in response to our Phase 1 (November 2021), Phase 2 (May 2022) and Phase 3 (August 2023) announcements and were able to provide 45 awards. The applicants were selected based on their application materials and completion of all the requirements outlined in the announcements. Travel summaries for the 10 newly awarded Phase 3 recipients will  be published in the NACP Newsletter and posted on the US CCSP website following completion of their travel.
