1. Following USGCRP’s Advance Science, Inform Decisions, Sustained Assessment and Communicate and Educate goals, the Carbon Cycle Science Program organized the first USGCRP Principals’ pre-meeting Brown Bag seminar on a 2011 Carbon Cycle Science Plan at the USGCRP NCO. Two authors of this advisory document from the community, Dr. Gregg Marland and Dr. Rob Jackson, both prominent carbon cycle scientists, summarized the history, goals and recommendations of the Plan. 2. Cary institute post-docs met with CCIWG and USGCRP staff to learn about these jobs and federal funding for terrestrial ecosystems research.
