These student assistant positions will assist the U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program Office Director in fulfilling the mission of the U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program and the Carbon Cycle Interagency Working Group (CCIWG). Our mission is to coordinate and facilitate federally funded carbon cycle research, and provide leadership to the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) on carbon cycle science priorities.
This hiring activity also aims to inclusively promote the training of the next generation in interagency carbon cycle science research program facilitation and coordination, data analysis, science communication, management and science-policy disciplines, exposing students to opportunities unique to our interdisciplinary science and interagency programmatic needs and goals, as reflected in the 2020 DEI statement of the North American Carbon Program, which is a community-driven component of the U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program. As the longest standing USGCRP interagency group and program since 1998/1999, we also aim to support the Global Change Research Act (1990) mandate to assist the Nation and the world to understand, assess, predict, and respond to human-induced and natural processes of global change.
These positions will be fully remote. The specific responsibilities (interchangeable and collaborative with other team members, depending on students' interests and availability during the required time for completion of specific projects or activities) as well as the application submission links can be accessed via the links below.
