CCIWG member Dr. Paula Bontempi has recently been appointed as Dean of the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography. Congratulations, Paula!

Dr. Bontempi is a former co-chair of the CCIWG and has been instrumental in advancing federal carbon cycle research opportunities for almost two decades. She has been serving as Acting Deputy Director of the NASA Earth Science Division since April 2019.
